Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data superpeople.dev handles, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can. It also covers the SUPER REVIVAL launcher.
Who we are
SUPER REVIVAL is a volunteer, non-commercial community project. For any privacy question or request, email contact@superpeople.dev or contact us on our Discord server.
Signing in with Discord
When you sign in, Discord shares your user ID, username, display name and avatar with us. If our server is set up for it, we also check your roles in our Discord server to know whether you are on the team (an admin, a moderator or a developer). We keep your ID, display name, avatar and team role in a signed cookie on your device. We don't get your email address or password. Your username is stored in the same cookie.
Ideas, votes and comments
Ideas, votes and comments, and the images and videos attached to them, are stored in our own database and file storage, hosted by Neon, together with your Discord ID, username, display name and avatar. Your display name and avatar are shown publicly next to what you post; the rest lets moderators act on abuse. If a moderator bans your account, your Discord ID, name and avatar stay on our ban list until the ban is lifted.
The launcher
The launcher signs you in with Discord, like the website. While you use it, it tells us when you sign in or out and when you download, check, uninstall or start the game. When you start the game, and once after the launcher updates itself, it also sends your PC's hardware: processor, graphics card, memory, Windows version and screen size, never your PC's name or serial numbers. With it, we note your approximate location (country and region) and your IP address.
Playing the game
When you press Play in the launcher, our game server links your Discord ID to your game account. It also keeps your Discord avatar, which the game can show as your profile picture, to you and to other players. If you are on the team (admin, moderator or developer), it keeps that too, and the team may add your Discord ID to its list of invited players: only the team and invited players can play on its test servers. When you accept our terms in the launcher, we keep your Discord ID with the version you accepted and the date.
Reporting a player
When you report a player with the game's Report button, the launcher sends the report to our team with your Discord account: the reason you chose, your in-game name and ID and the other player's, and their weapon and the last hit you took as the game recorded them. Once the match is over, it also sends the game's recording of that match from your PC, so the team can watch what happened. A recording shows the players in the match and what they did. The report is kept in our team's private infrastructure, where only the team can read it. The recording is kept on our website under a random link that only the team has, and is deleted after 30 days.
What the game servers record
During a match, our game servers record what each player does: where they are every second, how fast they move, their health and the weapon they hold, each shot they fire, and each hit they make or take, with its distance and the part of the body hit. This is linked to your game account and kept in our team's private infrastructure, where only the team can read it. We use it to spot cheating and to look into reports. We keep it for your last 10 matches, and delete it after 30 days at most.
The leaderboard
As in the game, the leaderboard on this website shows the 100 players with the most ranked points in each mode: their in-game name, tier, ranked points and country. Nothing else about them is shown.
Player numbers
The Servers page shows how many players are online, in the lobby and in a match over time, and how many different players played over a day, a week and a month. To count different players without knowing who they are, our game server keeps, for 31 days, when each game account was last online, under a one-way code of the account. Only the totals are shown.
Keeping the game fair
Each time you press Play or log in to the game, our game server keeps, with your game account, the IP address you connected from and one-way codes of your PC. The launcher makes these codes on your PC from its hardware identifiers (motherboard, system disk and Windows installation). The identifiers themselves never leave your PC, only codes that can't be turned back into them. We also keep the launcher's and the game's own installation IDs. We use all this to stop cheating and banned players coming back: while an account is suspended or banned, the PCs it played on are blocked too, and the team can see other accounts that used the same IP address or PC. Only the team can see it. This is our legitimate interest in keeping the game fair and safe. It is needed to play, so it is not part of the data choice below.
Why we use launcher data
We use it to help players who have problems, to see which PCs the game runs on, and to stop cheating, abuse and banned players coming back. This is our legitimate interest in running the game safely. It is kept in our team's private infrastructure, where only the team can read it. You can decline the hardware, location and IP address part at any time (see below).
Downloads
The game's files come from our storage at Cloudflare R2, or from a copy on archive.org when that can't be reached. Both see your IP address while you download. To prevent abuse, we count how much each account and each IP address downloads in an hour; these counts are deleted after 3 hours. An account or connection that downloads more than twice the game in an hour is paused for 24 hours.
Cookies
We only use cookies needed for signing in: sp_session keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and sp_oauth protects the sign-in process for 10 minutes. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics. sp_consent remembers your answer to the data question for one year.
Services we rely on
Vercel hosts this website and processes technical data such as IP addresses in its server logs. Discord handles sign-in. GitHub hosts the launcher downloads and source code. Each has its own privacy policy. We never sell your data or use it for advertising. Neon stores ideas, votes, comments, the files attached to them and the ban list. Cloudflare R2 stores the game's files and archive.org keeps a backup copy of them.
How long we keep data
Your sign-in cookie lasts until you sign out, or 30 days at most. Ideas, votes and comments stay until a moderator deletes them or you ask us to. Launcher logs stay in our team's private infrastructure for as long as we need them for support and security. Download counts last 3 hours and download pauses 24 hours. The IP addresses kept with your game account are deleted after a year without use. The PC codes stay as long as your account exists. The game servers' record of your matches is kept for your last 10 matches, 30 days at most.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time, remove our app from Discord under User Settings → Authorized Apps, and ask us by email or on Discord to show you or delete your ideas, votes and comments. Depending on where you live, local privacy laws may give you further rights. When you first visit the website, we ask whether you accept the launcher's data collection. If you decline, or change your mind with the button at the top of this page, we stop sending your hardware, location and IP address to our team when you start the game or the launcher updates. Your choice is saved on this device and, when you're signed in, on your account. You can also object, or ask us to delete your launcher logs, by email. The record that keeps the game fair (see above) is not part of this choice, because it is needed to play. You can ask us by email to delete your game account, together with the IP addresses and PC codes kept with it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
